Tajikistan has applied the Hague Apostille Convention since 31 October 2015. An FDA export certificate for a registration or import file in Dushanbe needs one U.S. Department of State apostille, with no Tajik consulate legalization. Upload the digital certificate and we return it apostilled by FedEx.
Simply upload your FDA digital file, and you will receive your apostilled document via FedEx.
In Tajikistan, the Ministry of Health oversees medicines and medical goods under Law No. 39 on Pharmaceuticals and Pharmaceutical Activities, and it is the single authority for pharmaceutical import licences. Products must be registered before they can be imported, and goods need a certificate of conformity, or recognition of one, at customs. Registration files rely on documents from the country of origin, and for U.S. products those come from the FDA.
Tajikistan is a smaller market, often supplied through regional distributors that also cover Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The FDA is a federal agency, so only the U.S. Department of State can apostille its certificates. We handle that and ship the apostilled certificate to you or straight to your Tajik representative.
Match your product to the Tajik authority that reviews it and the FDA certificate that authority normally expects.
| Product type | Tajik authority | FDA certificate |
|---|---|---|
| Medicines | Ministry of Health and Social Protection, under Law No. 39 on Pharmaceuticals | Certificate of a Pharmaceutical Product (CPP), Certificate of Exportability |
| Medical devices & medical goods | Ministry of Health and Social Protection | Certificate to a Foreign Government (CFG), Certificate of Exportability |
| Food, ingredients & infant formula | Sanitary and epidemiological authorities, with conformity assessment | Certificate to a Foreign Government (CFG), Health Certificate |
| Dietary supplements & medical foods | Health and sanitary authorities, depending on classification | Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) |
| Cosmetics & personal care | Conformity assessment through Tajikstandard and sanitary authorities | Certificate for Cosmetics |
The Ministry of Health handles medicines, medical goods and their import licences. Food and cosmetics go through sanitary and conformity procedures. Your Tajik representative will confirm the current requirements and which FDA certificate each authority expects.
The Hague Apostille Convention has been in force for Tajikistan since 31 October 2015, so a single apostille from the U.S. Department of State makes your FDA certificate valid there. There is no embassy visit, consular stamp or second legalization step.
Send the digital certificate exactly as the FDA issued it and choose Tajikistan as the destination.
We check that the certificate is complete, FDA-signed and ready for the State Department.
We submit it to the Office of Authentications and track it until the apostille is issued.
The apostilled certificate ships to you, your importer or your agent in Dushanbe or anywhere else.
Tajik import licences for pharmaceuticals should be requested at least one month before importation, and they can't be expedited on request. Have your registration and the apostilled FDA certificate behind it ready well before the shipment date.
Foreign companies must be registered in Tajikistan, and foreign legal entities need a branch or representative office there before applying for licences. Make sure the company names on your FDA certificate match your Tajik partner's documents.
At import, customs expects a certificate of conformity, or its recognition, alongside the import licence and commercial documents. The apostilled FDA certificate supports registration, while conformity certification is a separate step.
Tajik is the state language, and Russian is widely used in business and administration. Files typically need a certified translation into Tajik or Russian. Apostille the FDA certificate first, then translate it, so the apostille is included.
