Kazakhstan has applied the Hague Apostille Convention since 30 January 2001. An FDA export certificate for a registration file in Astana or Almaty needs one U.S. Department of State apostille, with no Kazakh consulate legalization. Upload the digital certificate and we return it apostilled by FedEx.
Simply upload your FDA digital file, and you will receive your apostilled document via FedEx.
Kazakhstan has been moving to recognize U.S. approvals. In May 2026, members of parliament reported that the law had been amended to give medicines already approved by the U.S. FDA or the European Medicines Agency an accelerated registration of about 15 days. The standard route is officially 210 days and often takes much longer. For exporters, that makes clean, correctly legalized U.S. documents even more valuable.
Applications are reviewed by the National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices (NCELS) under the Ministry of Health, within the rules of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The FDA is a federal agency, so its certificates can only be apostilled by the U.S. Department of State. We handle that and ship the apostilled certificate to you or straight to your Kazakh authorized representative.
Match your product to the Kazakh authority that reviews it and the FDA certificate that authority normally expects.
| Product type | Kazakh authority | FDA certificate |
|---|---|---|
| Medicines | Ministry of Health, with expert review by NCELS, under national and EAEU rules | Certificate of a Pharmaceutical Product (CPP), Certificate of Exportability |
| Medical devices | Ministry of Health and NCELS, under EAEU rules | Certificate to a Foreign Government (CFG), Certificate of Exportability |
| Food, ingredients & infant formula | Sanitary and epidemiological authorities, under EAEU technical regulations | Certificate to a Foreign Government (CFG), Health Certificate |
| Dietary supplements & medical foods | Sanitary and epidemiological authorities (EAEU state registration) | Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) |
| Cosmetics & personal care | EAEU technical regulation on perfumery and cosmetic products | Certificate for Cosmetics |
Kazakhstan's procedures are changing as new laws take effect and EAEU rules replace some national ones. Your authorized representative will confirm the current route, including whether the accelerated route for FDA-approved medicines applies to your product.
The Hague Apostille Convention has been in force for Kazakhstan since 30 January 2001, so a single apostille from the U.S. Department of State makes your FDA certificate valid there. There is no embassy visit, consular stamp or second legalization step.
Send the digital certificate exactly as the FDA issued it and choose Kazakhstan as the destination.
We check that the certificate is complete, FDA-signed and ready for the State Department.
We submit it to the Office of Authentications and track it until the apostille is issued.
The apostilled certificate ships to you, your importer or your agent in Astana or anywhere else.
Under the 2026 amendments, medicines approved by the U.S. FDA or the EMA can qualify for registration in about 15 days instead of the 210-day standard route. The steps, including price approval, are combined into one service. Ask your representative how the fast track works in practice and which apostilled FDA documents it needs.
Kazakh is the state language and Russian is also official. Registration documents are generally filed in Russian or Kazakh, with a notarized translation. Always apostille the FDA certificate first, then translate it, so the apostille is part of the certified translation.
Kazakhstan shares common registration rules for medicines and devices with Russia, Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. One EAEU registration can cover several member states. Confirm whether one set of apostilled documents will serve your whole EAEU procedure.
If your Kazakh distributor also supplies other EAEU markets, make sure your shipments comply with U.S. export controls and sanctions, particularly for anything heading on to Russia or Belarus. Our service covers only the apostille of your FDA certificate.
