Medicines and food supplements for the West Bank and Gaza are registered with the Palestinian Ministry of Health's Drug Registration Department, through a licensed local agent. The Ministry's published requirements for imported supplements, for example, ask for a free sale certificate from the competent authority in the country of origin, confirming the product has been on sale there for more than two years, and ask for foreign documents to be duly authenticated, including by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a Palestinian embassy.
There is currently no Palestinian diplomatic mission in the United States, so the U.S. side of the chain is State Department authentication followed by certification from the U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce. Your Palestinian agent can then advise on any further certification the Ministry requires locally. Imports also involve Israeli procedures. Under the Paris Protocol, the Palestinian Authority notifies Israel of import requests, and health products such as food and medicines need approval from both the Israeli and Palestinian Ministries of Health.
