See expedited options →Medicines in Mauritania are overseen by the Ministry of Health, and the government has been tightening control of the pharmaceutical supply chain. In late 2019 it announced emergency measures for quality control of medicines at every stage, from manufacture to the patient, put into effect a 2010 law on regulating pharmaceutical establishments, and destroyed some 100 tonnes of expired medicines to keep them off the market.
Imports were tightened too. Pharmaceutical imports may now enter only through Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport and the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott, which makes border checks easier to enforce. For U.S. suppliers, that means documents are checked closely, and an FDA certificate legalized by the Mauritanian Embassy gives importers and inspectors verifiable proof of a product's U.S. status.
Match your product to the Mauritanian authority that reviews it and the FDA certificate that authority normally expects.
