Angola's health products are regulated by ARMED, the Medicines and Health Technologies Regulatory Agency, which replaced the former national medicines directorate in 2021. ARMED has been building a national registration system for medicines, including the SIREMA online registration platform, and it licenses the companies that import pharmaceutical products. U.S. exporters and their Angolan importers are increasingly asked for official proof that a product is legally sold in the United States, and that proof is an FDA certificate.
Because Angola doesn't accept apostilles, a U.S. federal document needs two official stamps before Angolan authorities will rely on it.
